Barre, VT, January 22, 2019: The Snell Group is proud to announce they will be presenting with the NMAC/EPRI Large Electric Motors User Group taking place February 3-7, 2019 in Corpus Christi, TX. The Nuclear Maintenance Applications Center (NMAC), operated by EPRI, conducts near-term and long-term research to drive maintenance improvements at nuclear plants.

Don Donofrio, Instructor and Consultant of The Snell Group, will present Data Correlation to Identify and Confirm Rotor Bar Anomalies. Diagnosing many motor anomalies can be extremely challenging. One of the most critical concerns is identifying broken rotor bars. Many rotor configurations will exhibit indications of possible rotor bar problems as a function of their design. Vibration analysis training vendors are warning analysts to “not make rotor bar calls,” based on vibration readings alone. In this presentation we will discuss 7 ways to identify and confirm rotor anomalies, using energized and de-energized electric motor test data.

The Snell Group will have a booth at the vendor expo where they will be available to discuss how they can provide support in maintenance systems and other issues related to electric motors.
