Ron has been part of The Snell Group team since July 2003 as a lead instructor for Level 1 and 2 courses as well as several advanced specialty courses. He holds a certificate for ASNT PdM Level 3.
Ron began his career in industry as a journeyman millwright with Guide Division of General Motors in Anderson, Indiana. In 1988, he received certification from the GM Health & Safety Training Center in Detroit in Train-the-Trainer program. He developed on-site comprehensive employee safety schools that included rigging, confined space entry, overhead crane-safety and inspection, lockout, manlift, and robotics-robotics safety to meet OSHA standards. In addition, he was a member of the plant fire brigade and a local CPR trainer for the Red Cross. Beginning in 1992 he was active in various Predictive Maintenance programs at General Motors.
Ron has received certification in Thermography, Predictive Maintenance, Basic, Intermediate and Advanced Vibration Analysis, Airborne Ultrasound, Electric Motor Diagnostics, Laser Alignment, and MasterTrend(tm) Database Creation. Along with his college education in Industrial Technology, he has over thirty years of experience in industrial maintenance for automotive assembly, heavy manufacturing, and the pulp and paper industries. He has written and published professional papers and conducted many seminars, trade show presentations, and helped establish certification programs.
For fun Ron has been active as a judge in the Missouri area schools for the Robotics Challenge. He has also participated in numerous educational trade shows to encourage students to get involved and to enjoy industrial technology. Ron is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Purdue University, Department of Industrial Technology
Ron teaches a wide range of classes for The Snell Group, including Level 1, Level 2, Electrical Specialty, Mechanical Specialty and IR for Weatherization and Energy Audits.
