I am new to the Thermal Imaging field. I was wondering if anyone had or used preinspection checklists to send to customers ahead of inspection, to help with getting a quality thermal imaging Inspection.
Thanks!!
Luke,
Have been watching your post to see if anyone would respond. Don’t think that folks are ignoring your question but you must understand that it is a very broad based one.
First off, what type of Thermal Analysis are you going to perform, Electrical, Mechanical, Roofing, Building Envelope or all of the above?
A Pre-Inspection Checklist will be different for each discipline, the most essential part of the Checklist would be Your Pre-Bid Walkthrough.
What Obstacles have you observed that would hamper a clear Focal Point to the equipment to be inspected.
Regardless of the Type of Inspection, you might have items being stored in front of electrical panels you need to have opened, you could have unsafe walking surfaces, inadequate lighting conditions and other things that would cause you, and your client Extra Hours on the jobsite.
More than once I have shown up to do a roof inspection and the building owner did not know that the Cleaning Crew that was going to let me in did not have the Keys to open the Roof Hatch, as one example.
I do not know of a One Size Fits All Pre-Inspection Checklist, my experience is that almost every job has it’s individual challenges. After you have completed your walkthrough, you will be better equipped to suggest the things, pertaining to the particular job in question, that will help the client not only understand the process but reduce both the risks and hours involved.
Hope this helps, good luck, be Safe not Sorry you never know what you might find,
