Infrared cameras cannot detect moisture, but moisture inside structures or on surfaces often causes the surface to be at a different temperature than surrounding areas that are dry. The keys to finding water using infrared thermography is to understand the thermal properties of water and how water reacts thermally relative to the surrounding material when it goes through a temperature change. Attendees will learn how to detect these signatures and other useful tips during this presentation. This presentation will focus on the use of IR to help detect the presence of moisture in building applications.
