The Snell Group Announces New Product, Online Infrared Training
Barre, VT, April 1, 2013: The Snell Group is pleased to announce the introduction of a new product to their line of infrared training services. The new product, an online training course, Infrared for Weatherization and Energy Audits Online, is now available on-demand.
The Snell Group’s new online training course features the knowledge-rich material students expect from a live course, combined with the convenience of a web-base platform. Hosted by instructor Matt Schwoelger, who has years of knowledge in the fields of infrared for buildings, the training video interface is comprised of a number of "modules" which include videos, reading assignments and hands-on exercises. With several hands-on simulations and exercises built into the training, students who finish the course will prepared to start successfully applying infrared technology to inspect buildings. The 16-hour course features assessments to review to enhance the viewer’s experience and students may also ask questions to aid in their learning.
The Snell Group President & CEO, Jim Fritz, said that he is excited to offer students a new way to learn with the web-based platform.
“The Infrared for Weatherization and Energy Audits Online interactive training course is the first of our courses to be offered online and we’ve received positive feedback from our students thus far,” Fritz said. “There are many benefits to online training that makes this a good option such as less time lost in the work place, savings on travel costs, and the convenience of learning where and when you want.”
The online course prepares students to start successfully applying infrared technology to inspect residential buildings and small commercial facilities for deficiencies in the thermal envelope and to locate moisture related issues. It is designed for home performance professionals, weatherization crew members and building inspectors who use thermal imaging or are considering adding the technology to their array of services.
While owning an infrared camera is not necessarily required to participate, those who wish to complete the class in its entirety should have access to one.
