Three Snell Group Courses Approved for FBPE Professional Education Credits
Barre, VT, August 29, 2012: The Snell Group is pleased to announce that five course offerings have been approved for Professional Development Hour credits from the Florida Board of Professional Engineers, (FBPE). FBPE is an association of professional engineers that, in the interest of public health and safety, regulates the practice of engineering in the State of Florida. The courses approved for Professional Development Hour credits are outlined below:
32 PDHs – Level I –Thermographic Applications: This four-day course covers the theory and applications of infrared thermography in the predictive maintenance, quality assurance, condition monitoring, buildings, and non-destructive testing of materials fields. The focus is on qualitative thermography and how to collect data and follow proven and published inspection procedures. Material includes infrared theory, heat transfer concepts, operation of thermal imaging equipment and how to make clear, concise and easy to interpret thermal images. (Level I in Spanish also approved).
32 PDHs – Level I – Infrared for Building Applications: This four-day course covers the theory and applications of infrared thermography of the Level I – Thermographic Applications course with an emphasis on building applications. The class will meet the needs of a thermographer or building professional looking to inspect residential and small commercial facilities for insulation defects, air leakage problems, and moisture-related issues including roof systems.
32 PDHs – Level II – Advanced Thermographic Applications: Essential training for the professional thermographer, Level II offers greater depth and analysis on surface heat transfer, temperature measurement techniques, prioritizing findings, procedures and camera operation. Prerequisite: Level I. (Level II in Spanish also approved).
32 PDHs – Level III – Best Practices: Review industry best practices, standards, writing procedures and personnel certification issues. This course also covers how to prepare for the ASNT Level III T/IR method exam. Designed for supervisors and managers of thermography programs. Prerequisite: Level II.
16 PDHs IR for Weatherization and Energy Audits: This two-day course is designed for energy auditors and weatherization contractors who use, or are considering adding, thermal imaging to inspect residential homes.
